Courchevel is very proud of the fact that it has, for a number of years now, earned the right to call itself a ‘P’tits Montagnards’ (Little Mountaineers) resort. This certification is awarded by Ski France, in reward for the high quality of its child-related infrastructure, equipment) as well as the professionalism of the personnel taking care of the children.

Each of Courchevel’s villages offers safe and secure programs perfectly suited to even the youngest child:

All of the ski schools throughout the resort have classes adapted to children 4 years and upwards.

Courchevel 1550’s French Ski School (L’Ecole du Ski Français, of the ESF) proposes ‘VIC’ classes for English speaking children, with VIC standing for ‘Very Important Children’. The classes are designed to provide optimal conditions for learning to ski, by grouping a maximum of only 6 children with a ski instructor fluent in English.

Both the ski area itself and the lift system serving it were created and designed with children (and other beginners) in mind. To this end, the Pralong run in Courchevel 1850—a wide, gentle slope—is equipped with two specially adapted and easy to use drag lifts. Not far from there is the Jardin Alpin run—the place to be for kids, and one of the best places to learn to ski thanks to the two ‘magic carpet’ lifts. Courchevel boasts 10 other lifts that are free to little ones.

Off skis, children have a wide variety of activities to choose from:

All of this was designed with children in mind… but parents are mighty appreciative as well!
